One of the latest government news articles talks about the President's latest blunder which is his veto of the Children's Health Bill, which would have provided health care for all American children who's family's cannot afford it. He said it was just too expensive at 35 billion dollars or the cost of around 7 months of the Iraq war at current figures.
This latest US government news is not good news for the Republican Party at all as over 70% of the American people support this bill and it has bi-partisan support in Congress. This latest government news article shows that Bush is most definitely not a compassionate conservative. In fact he may have fatally damaged any remaining hope Republicans had of getting re-elected with this latest blunder as the pulse of America is throbbing intensely on this issue.
Have we had any US government news lately that has been good? I can't say that I've heard anything remotely positively coming out of the White House in the last 7 years. I must admit I do have compassion for the President. Somebody has to, as he has proved his merit once again to the dismay of the American people.
