US Government News- Always Compare and Contrast Sources |

A US government news report today on the ABC internet site has some supposedly positive information from Condoleezza Rice. Ms. Rice has just finished a nine-day tour of the Middle East. She claims to be optimistic about the talks she had during the tour, despite palpable friction between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Her words sound very encouraging. After all, peace in the Middle East would allow the people of this country to fall asleep with less difficulty each night. Nevertheless, such US government news reports make me leery. Rather than conveying US government news openly and accurately, I suspect the media tells us what it wants us to believe. We only ever know as much as those in power wish us to. I have a flexible attitude towards my US government news sources. I tend to watch several different news channels in an endeavor to get different perspectives. Most news channels are biased to either the political left or right. Hence, I like to compare and contrast reports of US government news before making up my own mind.
