Famed scholar of world religions Huston Smith noted, “Tibetan culture is to worldculture what the Amazon rain forests are to the environment.”  It is a resource for health and benefitbeyond compare.  Yet, since the Chineseinvasion in 1949 its authoritarian government has been waging what the DalaiLama calls “cultural genocide” against the people of Tibet.  Over one million native Tibetan people havebeen exterminated.  Six thousandBuddhist Monasteries have been destroyed along with their libraries – crimes ofinconceivable proportions.  The Chineseoccupiers continue their murder and oppression of Buddhists in Tibet where itis a “crime” even to have a picture of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
