Passport Peepers |
| 3/21/2008 2:41:40 PM |
Everyone's a-buzz about the State Department contract employees accessing Barack Obama's passport file 3 times and, it seems, Hillary Clinton's file and John McCain's file were also accessed. (AP) The State Department's Inspector General was supposed to look into this. However, the State Department doesn't have an Inspector General. The former Inspector General, Howard... Read More |

Voter Dynamics |
| 2/6/2008 9:34:52 AM |
The Super Tuesday voting got me to thinking about the dynamics in each party. The Democrats are the most interesting since the Democratic party, as Mark Twain said, isn't an organized political party. It's a confederation of factions. Bill Clinton was hugely supported by Democrats and it seems that loyalty is extending to his wife. Any disenchantment with Bill appears to... Read More |

Clinton vs. Bush |
| 1/28/2008 2:57:42 PM |
The Democratic Caucus issued a "Then and Now" comparison of the U.S. under Clinton and under Bush. It's pretty dramatic. Among the most striking differences are the following.
Real GDP growth over the 8 years of Clinton's presidency was 4.09%. Over the past 7 years of Bush's presidency it has been 2.65%.
Clinton created an average of 1.76 million jobs per year. Bush has created... Read More |

Have You Had Enough? |
| 1/22/2008 7:38:58 AM |
It's only January and I'm sick and tired of hearing about Clinton and Obama. I am sick and tired of hearing their platitudes. They talk about change, they argue about it, but the only change either will bring is a different person in the Oval Office, not different policies. Maybe I missed it, but I don't remember hearing either say they will restore our Constitutional... Read More |

National Debt Limits |
| 9/28/2007 9:07:24 AM |
The Senate has now approved an increase in the limit of U.S. national debt. The House approved the increase a while back. Our limit is now $9.815 trillion. (Reuters) While this is shocking enough, a look at the recent history is really interesting. When Ronald Reagan took office, the national debt was $935,100,000,000. By 1987 the debt limit had...
